It’s Never Too Late, and You’re Never Too Old to Shine Bright!

Hey gorgeous! Welcome back!
I have been having some conversations with several beautiful friends. We're all a little more seasoned in life and the common thread that has come up, is that they're feeling they're "too old" for something. Whether it's starting that new project, that business they've been dreaming of, that new relationship and more.
This really breaks my heart!!! So we had some really lovely conversations about this, but then something else hit me. If they're feeling this way, they're probably not the only ones.
I also experienced the most amazing graduate this past weekend! Well, besides my sweet step-daughter!

Let me share a story that warmed my heart this weekend. My step-daughter graduated with her degree, and I couldn’t have been prouder. But as the names were called, and caps flew high in celebration, one graduate stood out among the sea of fresh-faced achievers. His name was Carl, a gentleman with a full head of grey hair and a majestic grey beard that would make Santa jealous. Carl—probably in his 60s—walked proudly across the stage to receive his Master’s degree. Yes, his Master’s degree! The crowd erupted in applause, and I’m sure my own cheers could have been heard from the moon.

Carl’s story inspired me to my core. Can you imagine the bravery it took for him to step into a classroom filled with younger peers, to persevere through late-night study sessions, and to tackle exams after decades away from school? But he did it. He reminded me (and now you!) that there’s no expiration date on ambition.

So often, we let self-doubt creep in with whispers of “It’s too late” or “I’m too old” to chase that dream or try something new. But those whispers are just fear in disguise. Carl could have listened to them. He could have let grey hairs and stereotypes hold him back. Instead, he proved that age is just a number and determination is timeless.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign, my friend, this is it! It’s time to dust off those dreams, sprinkle them with a little courage and a lot of sparkle, and take the leap. Because guess what? It's not too late, and you’re definitely not too old. The world is brimming with possibilities waiting just for you, glitter and all.

What’s that thing you’ve been putting off? Is it going back to school, starting a new career, writing that book, or picking up a hobby you’ve always wanted to try? Whatever it is, I’m here to remind you that it’s not too late. You’re not behind; you’re just getting started. And there’s something so magical about starting—especially when you’ve got wisdom and life experience to back you up.

Take a moment to imagine what your own “Carl moment” could look like. Picture yourself stepping onto your stage, achieving that goal, and feeling the rush of pride that comes from knowing you didn’t let fear win. It’s never too late to add a new chapter to your story. In fact, some of the best chapters are the ones written when you’re bold enough to believe in your own sparkle.

And here’s the thing about glitter—it shines no matter where or when it lands. So go on, throw some glitter on your dreams. Make them shiny, big, and beautiful. Then take that first step, just like Carl did. Whether it’s enrolling in a class, sending that email, or even jotting down a plan, start now. Let this be your moment to shimmer.

Remember: The world is waiting for your unique brilliance. Don’t keep it waiting any longer. You’ve got this—and I’ll be right here cheering for you, just like I cheered for Carl. Because it’s never too late to create a little magic.

In your corner and rooting for you,

Your bestie~

The ALMOST end to Summer!

Hey Bestie, Welcome Back!  Yes, antother hiatus taken. Totally unplanned and I vow to get better at showing up here for you!  So what gives this time? So much.  I typically sit down to write to you on the weekends. Well, there has been a lot happening and the weekends ended up being either a blur or a total veg time with literally scrolling aimlessly on socials or just in front the tv. It started with mom. She had a toenail that seemed to be maybe in grown. She tried to cut it out herself. It then got inflammed and then there was a small section that turned black. SO scary.  Well, she's also kind of stubborn. I tried to first get her to go to a podiatrist. She thought that maybe there was a piece still in there that she didn't quite get out. Well, she also has neuropathy and touching her feet is painful. So it went untreated. I then suggested that maybe we just have the people that do her nails try and pull it out. Finally that suggestion seemed a good one. The...

Community and Friendship

One of the topics I get so many questions on is, friendships in later life.  There's a lot of you that reach out and are not really sure what to do. Some of you have lost friends over time, or had mom friends that you chatted with at drop off and pick up, but maybe it didn't go anywhere. Some of you were just so focused on mom and wife life that the girlfriend life kind of went to the way side.  There's a lot that can happen to us along the way, as life takes on many different shapes. Growth, moving, some of us even just lose ourselves somewhere along the way, and it's a matter of stepping back and getting yourself back. I think I have been every one of these women along my journey.  I thought I'd share a few tips and tricks to help you find your tribe!  1. Start by Revisiting Your Passions Finding friends with shared interests is key. Whether you’re into yoga, knitting, painting, or 80s rock concerts, there’s a community out there! Re-engaging with hobbies is...

Welcome Summer!

Hey Besties! It's been a bit since I've written a post. Things have been kind of wild in my world.  Lots of craziness happening and my mom had quite a health scare as well.  SO here I am and moving along with good intentions!  It's summer! We had the Summer Solstice, the Strawberry Moon and we are going through the seasonal changes. I am not a summer girl. Well. A little. I love the lake, boating, kayaking, things like that, but I do not like to be hot. Fall is where it's at for me! Summer is also different when you don't have kiddos out of school and planning family vacations. Where are my empty nesters at? It's such a wild feeling, even though my kiddos have been grown up for several years. Does it ever get easier? Do you get used to them being grown up? It's such a weird time, but also a great time! It's awesome to watch your kids grow!  Summer brings on so many amazing things! The sun, even when it's hot, brings the warmth of vitamin D and help...
